Is Sandals Resorts Worth It?

When you first look at pricing for a Sandals Resort you might be surprised with how much it can cost. While you get a lot for your money, vacations at Sandals can be quite pricey. The truth is, it is not worth the cost for some people. So we will help you decide if it is worth the cost of a Sandals vacation.

Why Is Sandals Resorts Worth It?

We believe that Sandals Resorts offer excellent value for your money. They offer more luxury inclusions than any other, and they are committed to delivering an overall experience that is unmatched in the industry.

Accommodations: Is it worth the cost?

All the rooms and suites at Sandals are well-designed and upscale in feel. They are spacious and offer elegant furnishings, private balconies or patios, and scenic views that range from garden to pool to ocean. Each room comes with a minibar that is restocked daily and a coffeemaker with Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, plus extras like oversized soaking tubs, rain showers, and more.

As you look at the different room categories there is a huge range! The most expensive room can be 5x the cost of the most expensive room. It really depends on what it is worth to you. Will the cheapest room work for you because you are active and want to spend as much time as possible outside of the room? If you like relaxing inside your room and want privacy a room with a private pool might be better suited for you and worth the extra cost.

There are some truly outstanding accommodations at Sandals, including overwater bungalows with direct access to the Caribbean from large decks with oversized soaking tubs; SkyPool suites with large terraces featuring elevated private infinity pools; swim-up suites with zero-entry access to lagoon pools and gorgeous views; beachfront walkout suites that put you just steps from the sand; and the one-of-a-kind Rondoval suites, with round thatched-roof rooms and private pool sanctuaries. For the price of these rooms, you could come to the entry level rooms multiple times. It really just depends if it is worth it or not to you.

Are the Restaurants Worth it?

Each Sandals resort offers multiple dining options, all of which are included. You’ll have a choice of cuisines at a variety of gourmet restaurants, cafes, and snack shops or food trucks. There aren’t any special restaurants that you have to pay extra for.

And all meals and snacks are unlimited—order more than one entrée or dessert, no problem. Plus, the food quality at Sandals Resorts is top-notch.

This really is where you get a ton of value. Not only is all the food included, but its food that would be expensive. We’re talking as many lobster tails, shrimp and steak as you would like. Every morning as many lattes as you can drink. For us it is also worth it to not need to worry about the bill at the end of the night. No need to flag your waiter down, just leave.

Unlimited Drinks

One thing anyone loves at an all-inclusive resort is the unlimited drinks! When you are deciding if the cost of a Sandals Resort is worth it, what you will be drinking can make a big difference for you. Sandals serves unlimited premium brand liquors from recognized labels, ensuring that every cocktail and drink is crafted with top-quality spirits. Whether you’re sipping a classic cocktail or a tropical creation, you can expect only the best.

With up to 11 bars at each resort, guests can indulge in unlimited drinks at a variety of locations. From swim-up bars and oceanside lounges to lively piano bars and authentic British pubs, there’s always a perfect spot to relax with a drink in hand.

Each room is stocked with a selection of beverages for added convenience. In-room bars feature wines and local beers, while concierge and butler-level accommodations come with a full liquor selection to enjoy at any time.

For wine lovers, Sandals offers six exclusive varietals of Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks® wines. These premium house wines ensure that every meal or special moment is complemented by a perfectly paired glass of wine.

Is it Worth it if I Do Not Drink Alcohol?

While you may feel like it is not worth it if you do not drink alcohol some of the bars will have great mocktail menus and we continue to see the Sandals resorts adding mocktails to the menus. Of course, you will not get the same value as someone who drinks what would be more expensive.

Other Inclusions

Sandals really shines when it comes to included activities. You’ll have access to unlimited nonmotorized watersports like snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding, including instruction; scuba diving for certified divers; and motorized watersports at certain locations.

Land activities include day and night tennis, golf at some locations, beach volleyball, and a fitness center with classes. The only onsite offerings that aren’t included are getting certified for scuba diving and spa services.

Distinctive onsite amenities

Sandals resorts offer plenty of fun amenities such as infinity pools, river pools, hot tubs, swim-up bars, rooftop bars, beach bars, beachfront restaurants, and overwater restaurants and bars. Some resorts have unique options—for example, Sandals Royal Barbados has a bowling alley, Sandals Royal Curacao has a rum bar, and Sandals Ochi has a speakeasy.

Daily and nightly entertainment

While exact offerings vary from resort to resort, every Sandals offers entertainment including DJs, beach parties, theme parties, live music, and more.

WiFi

Free WiFi is available in public areas and rooms.

Airport transfers

This inclusion is not common among other all-inclusive resorts, but at Sandals, transportation to and from the airport is included. If you book certain room categories, it’s a private ride in a luxury vehicle like BMW, Mercedes, or Rolls Royce.

All taxes and tips

This inclusion is also not very common. All taxes and tips are included in your rate. In fact, Sandals staff are not allowed to accept tips (except for spa staff if you get a spa service, and butlers if you stay in a butler level suite).

Excellent service

Sandals staff are trained to deliver top-level service and personalized attention to each guest. They are happy to help with requests and often go above and beyond to make your stay special. And if you stay in a butler level suite, you get the personalized services of a professionally trained butler.

The Value of a Romantic Adults-Only Beachfront Environment

An intangible that many people feel also makes Sandals worth it is the ambiance at the resorts. Only adults are allowed, which means no children running around. Sandals resorts offer serenity and seclusion so you can enjoy each other’s company.

They are also known for beautiful settings that feature white-sand beaches and lush tropical landscaping. There are romantic nooks tucked away, and plenty of spots for lounging such as beach and pool cabanas, hammocks, and gardens.

Even more extras

There are other possible extras you can get for free at Sandals. Some Sandals resorts give you access and complimentary transportation to other nearby resorts so you can enjoy all of their amenities and facilities. These include resorts in Barbados, Jamaica, and St. Lucia.

If you want a free wedding at Sandals, all you need to do is stay in a club or butler level room for 7 or more nights.

And if you honeymoon at Sandals within 30 days of your wedding, you get the free honeymoon package: a bottle of chilled sparkling wine, turndown service the first night, and fresh flowers plus breakfast in bed one morning.

As you can see, quite a lot is included at Sandals. You will not need to carry your wallet around, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. You’ll also have peace of mind because you’ll know the total cost of your vacation in advance and won’t be surprised by extra charges on your bill.

What is the average cost of a Sandals vacation?

The average cost of a Sandals vacation is between $4000-$7000 for a one-week stay for two adults. However, this can vary widely depending on which resort you visit, which room you choose, and what time of year you go.

How can you get the best deal at Sandals resorts?

Luckily, there are lots of ways to save on a Sandals vacation. There are always sales and special offers available, such as the 777 deal, seasonal discounts, new resort specials, and last-minute deals. Check the Sandals website or ask a certified Sandals specialist like us to help you find the best rate for your stay.

Why are Sandals resorts so popular?

Sandals resorts are popular because they offer an upscale all-inclusive adults-only vacation on a beautiful Caribbean beach. They are known for excellent service, top quality, and offering the most inclusions of any all-inclusive brand. They are especially popular for romantic vacations like honeymoons and anniversaries due to their focus on couples.

Which Sandals resorts are most affordable?

Another way to make sure you get the most for your money is to stay at a more affordable Sandals resort. While rates vary, the cheapest Sandals tends to be Sandals Ochi in Jamaica. Other affordable Sandals resorts are Sandals Negril, Sandals Royal Caribbean, and Sandals South Coast in Jamaica, and Sandals Regency La Toc in St. Lucia. Is Sandals Resorts worth it to you?

To decide whether Sandals is worth it to you, consider the type of vacation experience you want to have. Do you love the idea of relaxing at the resort and taking full advantage of all the onsite activities and amenities? Or do you want to head out to explore the area and eat at local restaurants?

If you spend a lot of time off the resort, Sandals may not be the best option for you. But if you’re ready for a relaxing, luxurious all-inclusive experience, we think Sandals Resorts are well worth the money.
