Trip of a lifetime
We used to arrange our own trips: we made plane reservations and paid for accommodations online. However, in arranging a trip to Africa we encountered some problems and decided to go to Dan Burke to have him set up the entire trip. We were surprised when he got back to us with a trip to the same places we wanted to go to that was highly customized and cheaper than we thought possible, including air flights. He also made suggestions on how to improve on the trip, most of which we used. Since then we have taken more than 15 “trips of a lifetime” to all 7 continents using Dan and 58 Stars as our travel agent and obtained similar results. We still do not know how he does this! Moreover, everything is done efficiently and quickly. The bottom line is you can arrange a great trip on your own, but you will get an even better, more custom and less expensive one by using Dan as your travel agent – and it will take far less time.

This summer, I hired a travel agent for the first time in my life and learned one thing: I will NEVER book another trip by myself. Working with Mike Salvadore was quick, easy, completely painless, and absolutely fabulous! When I called Mike, I was extremely far behind on my travel plans – I was simply stuck. I was traveling to a country that I’d never visited, and I didn’t know where to begin. Mike met with me for a short period of time and asked me questions about the types of things that my family likes to do on vacation, as well as budget and timing. The next thing I knew, Mike & his team presented a detailed presentation of our trip. This was not an easy trip to book. The trip included flights to several island locations, cars to inland destinations, and local-flavor excursions. One great surprise was the wonderful private tour guide that took us to see the ruins in Delphi and Olympia. Mike also found the MOST fabulous hotels, and most importantly, it was all EASY!

Amazing “trips of a lifetime” to east Africa – Tanzania and Kenya! With Linda’s beyond-competent help, we traveled in early 2015 and then went again in 2017 – and now are going for the third time in early 2019! Linda is able to customize a program that delivers all of our connections, and our safari destinations, and accommodates our specific needs. She is very well versed in travel needs of all kinds and is able to get us the best value as well as help ensure outstanding experiences while taking care of any concerns we may have. Great trip to Europe, Allan knocked it out of the park
Our group (3 couples) spent several months working with Allan on all aspects of our month-long Great European Tour (or as we called it, the “GET”). We asked him to give us multiple hotel options to choose from in each of the cities we stayed in. I appreciated his insight, as he got to know us during our discussions, which allowed him to make recommendations specific to our style. For this trip, he worked with us to choose 4 different hotels in four different regions, and he “knocked it out of the park”! These were some of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and there was no way we would have ever found them without Allan’s help! Allan also booked us on a cruise from Paris to Normandy very early in our planning process….and as we got within a couple of months of departure, he called us to tells us that he had gotten us a $1,000 per person lower rate than we originally booked! Again, this doesn’t happen without Allan…
And, just last month (September 2108), my wife and I did a “last minute” trip to Venice and asked Allan to find us a hotel…. Once again, a great hotel! Allan is “batting 1.000” and we won’t be traveling to unknown locations without his help!
Returning to the Motherland!
I chose to work with Natalie because of her attention to detail, consistent communication, and focus on family. For years, my family has been talking about bringing my mom back to the Philippines to visit her relatives. The international trip was intimidating for her due to her limited mobility and health condition. In explaining these concerns, Natalie was receptive and understanding. She took care in researching the easiest flights /connections, and wheelchair-friendly hotels AND secured our wheelchairs at all airports, so we wouldn’t have to pack a wheelchair. She went above and beyond by laying out a comprehensive travel plan for us and even found a complimentary tour we could take advantage of during our layover in Seoul! I know I can reach out to Natalie with any question or concern, and she’ll get back to me promptly with well-researched options and an explanation of the pros/cons.

A love letter to Allan Boyce: You’ve helped us travel comfortably for many years. Our two 2018 Seabourn Cruises were fabulous! Australia/New Zealand in January was highlighted by your suggestion to go early and stay at The Russell Hotel in Sydney. We had a blast and were over jet lag for the cruise. And now, we just completed and loved our Seabourn cruise around the British Isles. Your help in deciding which airline business class had the best sleeping layout was so helpful. A great trip to Span, Tuscany and France
We had envisioned a complicated European trip, linking together three different countries, but were struggling to pull it together as the start date approached. Allan saved us hundreds on the airfare, and worked out the air and rail connections we needed. He also found hotels for us in several cities that turned out great. Perfect in every way
I can’t say enough about the wonderful service we received from Patty Coffey during the planning stages of our 2-week trip to Peru. After looking at the itineraries of many high-end tour companies, none really met our requirements in terms of length of stay, places visited, and experience. We worked with Patty to develop our own itinerary, choosing hotels and tours that met our every need. She then coordinated with a local tour company in Peru, who made all the arrangements for drivers and tour guides, all who were excellent.
